What We're Doing
The League of Women Voters
What We're Doing!
Today, across the country, the League of Women Voters is focused
on four critical areas:
- Opening government to citizens. At the very heart of the League's
mission is its commitment to an open, representative, accountable and responsive
government, with even greater citizenship participation.
- Health care. The League remains committed to universal coverage
and cost containment.
- Early intervention for children at risk. America's children
must be a public policy priority. The League will continue to advocate
for access to quality day care and preschool programs for all children,
teen pregnancy prevention, immunization and nutrition programs.
- Crisis in urban communities. The League is working for incentives
to encourage private investments in distressed urban areas, equal access
to quality education, urban transportation funding, environmental quality
initiatives and gun control legislation.

adequate and equitable funding for education.

and strategies for living and care options for the elderly.
